Olorun, Ruler of the Heavens, is the first god of the Yoruba Pantheon. Olorun is classified as a Mage but works very much like an ADC/Hunter. You'll be relying on your auto attacks a lot. Olorun brings a lot new things to Smite with his abilities and passive.


Passive-Touch of Fate
Upon reaching 150 Magical Power from items, Olorun gains 15% critical hit chance and an additional 1% for each 10 Magical Power built from items. Additionally Olorun gains 5% extra scaling on his basic attacks.

-This passive is a big reason why Olorun, a Mage, will be treat more like a Hunter. Olorun's autos gain crit and scaling from his passive, something no other Mage can claim.

Ability #1-Focused Light

Olorun charges an orb of pure energy for up to 2s before firing it in front of him. The longer he charges the farther the projectile goes, passing through and damaging Enemy minions but stopping on colliding with Enemy gods. This ability can Critically Hit and can provide stacks of Overflowing Divinity.

-It is important to note, that charging this ability will NOT increase damage, it only increases range. This ability will be Olorun's main source of clear, but be weary of the enemy gods, as this ability will not pass through them. Enemy gods can body block this ability to limit your clear.

Ability #2-Overflowing Divinity

Olorun gains amplified Attack Speed. Every successful attack on an Enemy during the buff provides his inner Sun with energy, to a cap of 20 stacks. During the buff or for 4s after, Olorun can refire this ability to conjure the Sun to damage Enemies in an area. The Sun emits projectiles faster and more randomly with higher ammo. Hitting the same Enemy deals 10% less damage each time, to a minimum of 80% reduction.

-This ability is Olorun's attack speed stim, which is important for Hunter's. Use this ability when clearing the wave to help build stacks. The deployable part of this ability can be hard to hit as it small and you have to predict where your opponent will be. Find opportune moments like when your enemy is slowed or stunned.

Ability #3-Consecration

Olorun expends the light within himself knocking back and damaging nearby Enemies as well as slowing them for 2s. Allies bathed in the light gain a heal over time that ticks every second for 5s. For every ally healed, Olorun gains Physical and Magical protections.

-Olorun has no escape (dash, leap, etc) so this is his ability to help peel enemies off his back. Olorun heals himself and and allies with this ability but it is not an instant heal, it heals over time so keep that in mind. Also healing allies gives you Magical and Physical Protections, which will help you mitigate damage in tough situations.

Ability #4-Sanctified Field

Olorun brings forth Olodumare and Olofi who travel outwards, creating a large area of divine energy that distorts the flow of time within. All Enemies caught in the area are negatively affected by the time dilation, attacking, casting and even animating more slowly. Olorun himself benefits from the Sanctified Field in a similar way. The strength of the divine field also impacts the effect of buffs, debuffs, projectiles and deployables.

-This ability is a great engaging tool as well as defensive. Enemy abilities will last longer so beware of that as that could help some gods, like with Hun Batz ultimate. Long cooldown so use this ability wisely.

Notes

Hunter's Blessing is the best blessing on Olorun. I like tiny trinket start with 3 mana pots and 2 health.

Notes

You can sub Hastened Ring for Telkhines if you really want but I prefer Telkhines. Also I like the pen from Spear of Desolation as well as the cooldown for the Ult. Sell boots for your items of choice, whether it be a defensive item or Hastened Ring or more power/pen.

Leveling Focused Light shoould be priority, it is your main clear as well as damage besides your autos, also it crits. Level 2 I like Consecration because of the heal and slight peel with the knock up. After the Focused Light is maxed, focus your Overflowing Divinity. Leveling your Ult when needed.
