By no means is this perfect, it honestly takes time to play Loki, but I won't say he takes much of any skill. You can learn his Decoy and how to clear pretty easily in JG Practice but map awareness of enemy positions, their wards and even where they are looking comes into play. When I first started playing Loki and I personally recommend you do this if you're just starting out, adopt what has been deemed "The Assassin Mindset". Remind yourself you're an assassin as Loki is one of the best examples of that. Stealth, decoy, stim and teleport stun are what make up his kit, if you were going to assassinate someone you wouldn't jump on top of them then run away, you would stalk from the side wait until they have dismissed you as simply not wanting to go in then you vanish before them and get behind them to do the dirty work. Loki can be played extremely aggressively or defensively, it all depends on your team. All you have to do to play and be better at Loki is to remember that he is an assassin, unless you're building for it you shouldn't go toe to toe with people, simply get in, gank and get out, and don't forget, very much the value of not being seen.
Even after the nerf to Loki he can still pick up easy ganks at early levels
PASSIVE - For 8 seconds after using an ability, your next basic attack will deal an additional 10% damage. The effect can only occur every 3 seconds.
This is the item to feared, be aware of its power but remember it has a cooldown, I've seen way too many people take this and think it doesn't have a cooldown, go in to gank and then die because they didn't take enough damage to be scared of him.
+20 Physical Power +25 Magical Power ROLE QUEST: DAMAGE Damage lane minions and Enemy gods to gain stacks. Dealing 100 damage to Lane Minions provide 1 Stack and Dealing 100 damage to Enemy gods provide 3 Stacks. At 100 Stacks Attacker's Blessing Evolves, gaining 10 Penetration.
PASSIVE - For 8s after using an ability, your next Basic Attack will deal an additional 50% damage. Abilities that function like basic attacks do not benefit from this. PASSIVE - This item grants 2.5 MP5 per 10% of your missing Mana.
PASSIVE - Enemies hit by your damaging Abilities take an additional 20 Physical Damage + 15% of your Physical Power over 2s.
PASSIVE - Killing an enemy god forges a shield from their blood with Health equal to 200 + 10 per Player Level for 20s. While the Blood Shield is active you gain +10% movement speed.
PASSIVE - On Basic Attack hits, deal Physical Damage equal to 3% of the target's maximum Health. If the target has over 2000 Health, the bonus damage scales up. This effect reaches a maximum of 5% of the targets Maximum Health at 2750 Health.
PASSIVE - Your Physical Damage ignores 15% of enemy gods' Physical Protection. If the god has over 65 Physical Protections, this effect scales up to ignore a larger percentage of their protection. This caps at 40% Physical Penetration at 200 or more Physical Protection.
Last items can differ, the main points here are Hydras Lement, Crusher and Bloodforge, Qin and Titan are a good tank remover if you need them.
Swapping last items can useful for high concentrations of a certain type of dmg such as all phys or magic
AURA - Allied gods within 70 units have their Attack Speed increased by 20%.
Unless your supp already has this item and then I guess you can just skip it but try to be careful around the mage(s) that have gotten kills
AURA - Enemy gods within 55 units have their Physical Protection reduced by 20.
PASSIVE - While over 75% Health, you gain +35 Physical Power. While under 75% Health, you gain +35 Magical Protections and +35 Physical Protections.
Very good all around items, Void removing protections from nearby enemies and Shifters' giving quite a bit of power

AURA - Enemy gods within 55 units have their Physical Power reduced by 30.
Hide of the Nemean Lion
PASSIVE - Reflects 25% of all Basic Attack damage back to the attacker as Physical Damage.
PASSIVE - For each enemy god within 55 units of you, you gain a stacking buff that provides 7 Magical Protection and 7 Physical Protection. Stacks up to 5 times.
Oni Hunter's Garb
PASSIVE - For each enemy God within 55 units of you, you gain a stack of 3% damage mitigation. This caps at 3 stacks.
AURA - ALL enemies within 25 units are dealt 40 Magical Damage per second.
Breastplate of Valor
Jade Emperors Crown: Giving power, Phys protections and even a little bit of health this is a veyr well-rounded item in stopping the damage Loki does.
Hide of the Nemean Lion: A simple yet effective item, an efficient Loki will now how to do the most damage in the least amount of basic attacks if they see this item but agains a newer Loki this can be devestating
Breastplate of Valor: A very good item for mages who don't want to lose that much in buying defenses, giving a fair amount of CDR, some nice mana as well as a little MP5
Masamune/Oni Hunters Garb: These two are very good, one giving mitigation the other giving protections but it's the fact that when Loki is in stealth you can see if you gain a stack on these items to know if he is close to you or your teammates, as well as each item giving very nice stats for their respective buyer
Mystical Mail: The most common form of anti-Loki I see out there, it provides a constant tick mg AOE which a seasoned player will instantly be able to track Loki and follow him with, the stats as well being nice health, phys protections and come CCR are nothing to forget either.
I'm not saying you need all of these (please don't do that to me) but these are all good items for countering Loki as well as others, I just wanted to being these to attention.

Agni is on here because of his very high range once he hits 5 but until then all you need to do it bait out the dash or hit 5 first and initiate with ult, but because there's a Loki on the enemy team, he'll have Beads/Aegis.
Athena: A good Athena with a good Loki will allow Loki to always have backstabs as well as Loki can stealth, get behind and stick to someone as Athena ults in.
Baron: A good overall god to have on your team providing quite a bit of nice CC and healing as well as Barons' Brew which helps Lokis bad mana, as well as the MP5 (for some reason) on Hydras' Lement
Discordia: A square that can make allies attack one another which roots, an intoxicate and a passive that lets the top dmg god stay top dmg? Yummy
Fafnir: Stone of Binding, Shoguns' Kusari- This will allow Loki to get level 3 ganks before the timer hits 0:00 (I know through personal experience)
I did not but kum-butt fuck-karna on here because Loki and him together are far too rude for this world.
Athena: She can taunt you off her teammates as well as get block stacks to absorb basic attacks
Aphrodite: She can stun you out of stealth, has a DOT as well as an immune in her ult and for whoever she's bound to
Cabrakan: Very high AOE and dmg with many stuns to stop you from running
Chang'e: High heals, CC and a very good healer
Kumba: I hate you
