Hemiphone - Unknown

This is a selfish Ares build for casual conquest. You forego giving protections to your allies in exchange for being able to delete squishies while still being very tanky. Start your 3, but max your 1, 4, 3, then 2. You'll want to favor aura items because they give you 30 power from your passive.

Abilities

1. Your 1 does a boat load of damage to enemy gods, but doesn't clear very well (unless they stand in the minion wave). If you're close to them, you can fit 2 auto attacks before refiring your chain, which gives you more damage. The chains themselves cripple and slow the enemies, while speeding you up.

2. Your 2 is a good defensive tool. It provides protections, crowd control reduction, and HP5 to you and your allies. The protection buff also gets increased if you have people chained, which is a nice touch.

3. Your 3 is passable clear, but mainly just kills gods. It does good damage AND does percent damage, so you can really melt people with this and your 1.

4. The infamous beads burning Ares ult. A lot of people who start playing Ares center their gameplay around this ability, but its really just another tool. It does massive damage, which can be used to finish off kills even if they run away. In general, I use this as a dissuasion tool for a lot of match ups. If someone uses their beads, you can immediately ult them since their beads lasts 2 seconds, while your ult has a 2.5 second delay. This also works for a lot of ults. If you're ever in an Ares mirror match, try not to ult first because you will get pulled.

Your start is fairly flexible. Sentinel's provides health and mana sustain as well as gold. Sentinel's Embrace is also very useful, so I prefer this starter item. You should also grab the T1 of your first item. Grab some pots or a chalice if you're confident in the early game. Your relic will be team composition dependent, otherwise just go meditation.

Total: 13900g, 235 PDef, 258 MDef, 350 power, 3285 health, 20% ccr, 0 cdr.

Keep in mind your 2 gives you 40 protections, 30% CCR, and 45 HP5 with only a 7 second downtime overall. The biggest weakness of this build is you don't have any base CDR so it can be pretty punishing. Your 2 will have a 7 second down time as opposed to a 1 second downtime with 40% CDR. Also, your ult will have a 100 second CD instead of 60 seconds. In my experience, people are pretty good about juggling their beads and CC immune ult timer, to where pulling multiple people is rare. You also lose the ability to constantly protect your allies, but the point of this build is to kill everyone, not to help them live :). If you go for CDR, you'll have to build Witchblade or Shogun's Kusari or forego the free 30 power.

In exchange, you can basically full combo squishies for most of the game, which has a lot of carry potential. You can play very aggressively and pull off your own ganks without the help of your jungler.

A more balanced build meant more for safer play. You get a bit tankier at the cost of a bit of power. The main difference is the lack of the Mystical Mail early game power spike, but you are tankier later and Chronos Pendent is excellent with a power pot to spam your ult and 2.
