ChiffonCake - NA-West
I love Sun Wukong and he's my favorite Warrior and will always be. He just has so much potential and is fairly underrated. This is a guide to help you get into Wukong, The Great Sage Equal to Heaven.
Warrior's Blessing
+75 Health +10 Physical & Magical Protection +25 Health Stolen And Mana Restored Upon Damaging An Enemy God, 10s Cooldown ROLE QUEST: SOLO Dealing damage to an enemy god provides 1 stack. This effect can only occur once every 10s. Getting a Kill or Assist on an Enemy god provides 3 stacks. At 15 Stacks Warrior's Blessing Evolves, gaining +15 Physical and Magical Protection.
Chalice of Healing
This consumable heals 250 Health over 25 seconds per use. Comes with 3 uses that are refilled if you enter the Fountain, sells for 0 gold.
Healing Potion
This consumable heals 250 Health over 25 seconds.
Round Shield
Healing Potion
This consumable heals 250 Health over 25 seconds.
Mana Potion
This consumable heals 150 Mana over 25 seconds.
For conquest go Warrior's Blessing + Chalice and 3 or 4 Healing Pots. For other modes Warrior's blessing + Round shield + 2 Healing Pots and 1 Mana Pot start.
Warrior Tabi
Y10 Soul Eater
PASSIVE - Your abilities heal you for 2.5% of damage dealt. Each time anything dies within 80 units you gain a stack. Gods, Large Jungle monsters and Bosses provide 5 stacks. At 100 Stacks Soul Eater Evolves, gaining 15 Physical Power, 4% Physical Lifesteal, and 10% Physical Ability Lifesteal.
These are your cores, a must have in almost every single mode. Soul Eater can be implemented anytime in your build. Soul Eater is a substantial item on Sun Wukong; similar to Glad's Shield, this item procs on all his abilities to lifesteal like crazy. So Soul Eater combined with Glad's turns you into what others call "Vampire."
Warrior Tabi
Breastplate of Valor
Pestilence (old)
AURA - Enemy gods within 55 units have their healing reduced by 25%. This does not stack with similar Auras.
Hide of the Urchin
PASSIVE - You gain +3 Magical Protection and +3 Physical Protection for each god kill or assist. At 7 stacks this item Evolves, providing a Health Shield that gains stacks every 2s. Shield only stacks if you have not taken or dealt damage in the last 5s. Each stack provides 10% of 100 Health +5 Per Level.
This is a frequent build to have in mainly conquest, Full CD reduction with antiheal in case enemies have tons of lifesteal or heals which is pretty frequent. This order can be swapped if against more magical gods than physical gods.
In my opinion, Hide of the Urchin comes in later because as a Warrior class you rarely fight to obtain assists/kills during laning phase. However, mid to late game most definitely.
Soul Eater is put before Hide of the Urchin because Soul Eater is much easier to stack, this item can be put behind your second defense item, for example, pestilence. Soul Eater can also be bought early if ahead and you just want to output some more damage.
Warrior Tabi
Breastplate of Valor
Pestilence (old)
AURA - Enemy gods within 55 units have their healing reduced by 25%. This does not stack with similar Auras.
Mantle of Discord
PASSIVE - If you take damage below 40% health you unleash a shockwave that stuns all enemies within a range of 20 units for 1s and become immune to Crowd Control for 1s. This effect cannot trigger more than once every 110s.
Pretty similar to the conquest build, however Mantle of Discord instead of Hide of the Urchin and Brawler's or Crusher* would be a replacement of Glad's Shield. Reason is first, it would not be needed anymore having full stacked Soul Eater and second, Mantle of Discord would make your CD reduction past the max CDR. You would end up with 130-140 physical power with a good amount of mix defense with Breastplate, Bulwark, and Mantle of Discord.
*Would highly recommend Crusher if Brawler's is not needed due to the enemy team having small amounts of heal. Crusher's passive procs on all of Wukong's abilities.
Void Shield
AURA - Enemy gods within 55 units have their Physical Protection reduced by 10%.
OLD Ancile
PASSIVE - Whenever you take Magical Damage from an enemy ability you unleash a shockwave that Silences all enemies within a range of 30 units for 1s. This effect cannot trigger more than once every 30s.
Mantle of Discord
PASSIVE - If you take damage below 40% health you unleash a shockwave that stuns all enemies within a range of 20 units for 1s and become immune to Crowd Control for 1s. This effect cannot trigger more than once every 110s.
Blackthorn Hammer
PASSIVE - While over 25% Mana, you gain +10% Cooldown Reduction. While under 25% Mana, you gain +50 MP5.
Void Shield and Ancile has been the items for Warriors to shift their usual tank to a bruiser. It provides a good amount of dmg along with an adequate amount of defense. These two items can be replaced with any of the main defense items, for instance, Breastplate of Valor, Bulwark of Hope or even Glad's Shield.* Mantle of Discord can also replace Glad's if needed for more defense in conquest.* Blackthorn Hammer, the not-so-new item that has made mostly every warrior and some assassins seem extremely strong due to it's power boost with health and mana along with the amazing passive. Blackthorn Hammer can be replaced anywhere in Wukong's builds besides the core items, excluding Glad's Shield. It can replace Glad's Shield's 10% CDR with more bruiser potential.*
*In conquest, I would replace Glad's Shield with care and only replace if necessary.
Why Void Shield instead of Shifters? Void Shield just provides that good balance between physical protection and health along with 20 power + small penetration. While Shifters provides a ton of power, lacks in defense. Yes you get 35 protections of each being below 50% but when you ult and heal it's going to shift from defense to power. Shifters would be really situational in terms of how farmed you are.
Why Ancile instead of Runic Shield? Ancile's passive is just amazing, silencing enemies while taking dmg from a magical ability. This item also provides a little more power and 10% CDR along with its passive! Runic Shield can come in handy to lessen the damage of mages when you are in their face but what's 50 power less during late game? While it gives you 150 health, I wouldn't prioritize that and its passive over Ancile. You can build if Ancile's silence is pretty much useless on the mage you're fighting then Runic would be the replacement for Ancile.
I've been debating on what's ideal to prioritize first in leveling after Wukong's Master's Will got decreased in cooldown. I still favor Magic Cudgel more because it's just an all around amazing clear, poke, and objective/camp steal with its passive.
First 3 levels on conquest is very situational, but I would always start with Magic Cudgel mainly because it does more dmg to minions to clear wave. Second level would be depended on if you need 72 Transformations to run away from ganks and or to rid of certain CCs using Ox form. and Third level you can double level a skill if you need either Magic Cudgel to clear harder/poke or Master's Will to be more aggressive.
Other modes, you usually want to get all 3 abilities on the first 3 levels because of the main dmg output combo of Sun wukong: 3(Tiger or Ox)-auto attack-2-auto attack-1. Also for other modes, you can switch the leveling between Master's Will and 72 Transformations for situations such as CCs that stops your tiger form from happening. For example, Poseidon's whirlpool cripple, or Anubis' wrap. Why prioritize 72 Transformations second when it's just going to be stopped frequently by these CCs.
The Assassin/High DMG Output leveling is a bit odd but it does do so much dmg when there aren't any disrupts for your tiger form. I've tried it and it's a slight troll leveling. Try it out, it's pretty fun!
!Important note: As you can probably tell there's a patter in all these levelings; Somersault Cloud is maxed at the very last 4 levels. Why? Well, leveling it ONLY increases the dmg output and it doesn't affect much of your dmg with the cooldown being pretty long. I'd say if leveling it up would increase the healing or provide more stats as you level, it might be something to prioritize. But as of now and probably forever it is the last priority.
Cripples, knock backs, stuns, and silences prevents Wukong from using his tiger form. Some knockup immunes can mess up Wukong really bad as well.
Can disrupt charge up attacks, for instance, Bellona's Bludgeon. Fairly good against mages with no escapes and slows as their CCs becomes useless because Ox form is immune to slows. Somersault Cloud gives you CC immunity.
