Since the beginning of this season I really started to think that Hades was going to be very bad. Ngl, over these years, Hirez has nerfed a lot of core items for Hades, which is funny bc they certainly didn't pretend that but they did it. Even with these last buffs I considered him weak this season, but I've changed my build a bit and it feels much better and I'd say somewhat strong. Imma show 2 of the builds I've been testing, I felt good with these in every single game, but these require different playstyles depending which one youre building, I'd recommend to test both builds so you can have a more clear idea of what suits you. (I have tested more builds but I think showing only these 2 will make you realize the 2 different playstyles you can choose with Hades)
First, you start with tainted + tiny trinket + 4 multipots/pots (I think multipots are better bc you have enough healing with your 3 + tiny trinket and you will suffer mana issues even with blue buff bc tainted doesnt provide any mp5) + HOG ( yes, start hog, you dont deal a lot of dmg to the buff at lvl 1 and by doing this you can then blink to the wave and start grouping minions for better clear with your 3)
Then you finish your tiny trinket into pythags (yes, not bancroft, bancroft only gives dmg&lifesteal, pythags gives power, lifesteal, health, pen and an aura, and its cheaper) + you can also get a health chalice. After that, depending on what youre against (phys/mag) you will go either breastplate or gengis, bc you need that mp5 sustain + cdr (you can get kusari instead of gengis if you want and its better for your team, it kinda gives more or less the same stats, gengis is more selfish and kusari is better for the team). If you went breastplate, dont upgrade it till your build is finished (you can choose either breastplate, if youre worried about their autos, then go blue one, if not the orange), then follow it with voidstone so you have enough dmg to be a threat and good clear / If you went gengis then follow it with breastplate, you need the phys prots and you will have full cdr with blue buff at this point, so even with less dmg you have good pressure with your cds. After all this, go for your lonos, once you get this item, youre kinda inmortal, specially in your ult. Furthermore, get your tainted breastplate and finish your build with gengis/voidstone depending of what path you chose + upgrade your breastplate and your actives.
This build is the one I most value rn.
Special Note - Horrific:
Lonos kinda forces you to not get thorns since you will reduce thorns dmg, instead, go for blink and horrific. Horrific is the active that changes your way to play Hades, Horrific allows Hades to use either horrific or ult to force people dashes or beads, if you force something with either horr or ult you can follow it with your dash and then use either horrific or ult to make people vulnerable at that point. If they cant get away of Hades ult or contest horrific with something , you will win that fight if your team follows you. Also, despite having lonos, you will still do a lot of dmg because Hades ult does a ton of dmg and you will do good dmg with your 1+3 by spamming it on cd since you have 40% cd with this build. You will be inmortal bc of lonos mitigations, your ult mitigations + prots and you will have a ton of utility bc of tainted (50% antihealing) + pythags (lifesteal&power aura) + voidstone aura (reduce 10% magical prots) + the slows from your corrupted blink and horrific on top of reducing their dmg and attack speed.

PASSIVE - Enemy Gods that you hit have their healing taken reduced by 20% for 5s. You are healed for 120% of the healing reduced. Can be upgraded at level 20.

AURA - Allied gods within 70 units have their Magical Lifesteal increased by 6% and their Magical Power increased by 15 or their Physical Lifesteal increased by 6% and their Physical Power increased by 15.
Breastplate of Vigilance
GLYPH - When your ultimate ability has finished casting you provide an aura in a 70 unit range around you reducing basic attack damage from enemies by 25% for 5s. This effect may only occur once every 45s.
Void Doumaru
AURA - Enemy gods within 55 units have their Magical Protection reduced by 10%.
Lono's Mask (deprecated)
PASSIVE - GAIN DEFENSE, SACRIFICE DAMAGE Only can be bought by Mages, Hunters, Assassins <font color='#42F46E'>-15% Damage Taken <font color='#F44242'>-15% Damage Dealt <font color='#F44242'>-15% Healing Done
Tainted Breastplate
PASSIVE - Enemy gods that you hit have their healing taken reduced by 50% for 5s.
Genji's Guard
PASSIVE - When you take Magical Damage from Abilities your cooldowns are reduced by 3s. This can only occur once every 30s.
Y10 Emblem of Increasing Peril
Using this item Slows the Movement Speed of all enemy gods within 35 units by 30% for 5s. Their Attack Speed is reduced by 25% for the duration. Additionally, their Damage Dealt is reduced by 10%. If an enemy deals 10% of an Allied God's Maximum Health within the duration, the debuff's effects are increased by 5% each, stacking up to 3 times. Cooldown - 110s.
Chalice of Healing
This consumable heals 250 Health over 25 seconds per use. Comes with 3 uses that are refilled if you enter the Fountain, sells for 0 gold.
OLD Vampiric Shroud
PASSIVE - Damaging any enemies with an ability gives you bonus 6 health and 3 mana. Can only trigger once per target per ability.

In this case you can go Vampiric. You will have a lot more sustain with this build in the early levels and its very unlikely that will run out of mana or health. Since you have this starter, you dont really need pythags neither breastplate and you can start with a helmet
Tyrannical Plate Helm
AURA - Ally lane minions within 70 units gain 25% Health and Attack Speed. Whenever an ally lane minion dies within 70 units of you, gain 5 power per stack, max 6 stacks for 15 seconds.
Witchblade
AURA - Enemies within 55 units have their Attack Speed reduced by 25%.
Pestilence (old)
AURA - Enemy gods within 55 units have their healing reduced by 25%. This does not stack with similar Auras.
Pridwen
PASSIVE - When your Ultimate ability has finished casting, you gain a Shield equal to 90% of your Protections from items and abilities for 5s. When destroyed, by timing out or being depleted, it explodes in a 30 unit radius and deals Magical damage equal to 75% of your Protections from items and abilities and slows targets by 25% for 3s. This can only occur once every 45 seconds.

This is the finished build. With Hades you need power in the early lvls to pressure/clear, without that you do nothing so thats why in this case you will go tyrannical as your first item if you are against a phys or voidstone if you are against a magical. Yes, tyrannical in this case and not breastplate or celestial because you need dmg and you dont need the mp5 from celestial when you have vampiric + your blue and pressumably totem. Also, Hades takes great advantage from tyrannical bc it gives him great power, a bit of prots, hp , ccr and its passive. Since Hades can heal minions, having tankier minions that also have their attack speed increased against can be a pain because the enemy will clear slower these minions and Hades can also heal them again. However, tyrannical prots are not enough for you to tank a phys so go and take your witchblade as well, these 2 will make you tanky enough and they will struggle a lot clearing waves. If you are facing a magical god then dont go for tyrannical but voidstone first and then tyrannical. if you started tyrannical then go pestilence/bulwark after witchblade, since you dont have tainted, you need some antihealing to deal with hunters' sustain, if you dont really see the value of getting pest, then go bulwark. After that, get your pridwen, at this point you will have 40% cdr with bluebuff and good prots. Then finish you vampiric into blood soaked so you have great sustain and prots, at this point you lack some magical prots but you are still fine and you can get voidstone as your last item/pest/bulwark depending on the path building you chose. At the end, upgrade your relics ( you can upgrade thorns earlier if you want since its very good and has only 80s cd. If you get to hyper late then sell your tyrannical for jade and you will be super tanky (Why not rushing Jade then? As I said, Hades need power in early, jade has only 40 power on it, and its 200g more expensive)
Special Note - Thorns:
This build you dont get lonos but you will still be very tanky bc of your prots and the great sustain from vampiric. In this case you get thorns so you can thorns + ult in the middle of a fight, so if they decide to target you they will take a lot of dmg bc of thorns reflect dmg. You can deal a lot of dmg with your ult + thorns + your pridwen explosion on top of having the utility of reducing healing with pest, reducing attack speed with witchblade, reducing prots with voidstone and reducing dmg with jade if you get to that point. The problem with this build is that it will be harder for you to catch people because they will either beads or dash your ult, then you can follow it with your dash again but you will be in trouble if the fight doesnt well after that since you wont have horrific to help you out. Nevertheless, sometimes you can win the fight by just doing a good engage with your blink + thorns + ult
