Free Agent - NA-West

This is the build I have been using so far in Season 7. The main goal of my build is to reduce cool downs so I can effectively continue to harass the enemy team, knock them into the air and toss them somewhere favorable for my team, as well as building with defense and usually some auras to give my team a little uplift. I vary this dependant on the team we are against, so I will walk you through it the best I can.

Starting Items

Notes

Usually start Guardians Blessing plus a level in boots. If you don't want to start Guardians because you wont use it in your final build, that's a personal choice you can make. Also pick up two wards and some HP pots before I leave the fountain. Do not forget to continue purchasing wards throughout the game and placing them in the jungle to avoid ganks from the enemy.

Ward

This is a ward that allows you to see normal enemy movements with 45 units. It does respect line of sight and can't see through walls or stealth. It remains for 3 minutes or until killed.

Notes

Guardians Blessing should be on here but I cant add it. Usually start Guardians Blessing plus a level in boots. If you don't want to start Guardians because you wont use it in your final build, that's a personal choice you can make. Also pick up two wards and some HP pots before I leave the fountain

When destroyed, by timing out or being depleted, it explodes in a 30 unit radius and deals Magical damage equal to 75% of your Protections from items and abilities and slows targets by 25% for 3s. This can only occur once every 45 seconds.

Notes

The Pridwen and Breastplate of Valor really give Cerberus a much needed lift in the cool downs department. I usually always build these items. Pridwen is a great option for ensuring you stay alive when engaging a team fight with your ultimate. Really helps you out if you can snag it early.

Notes

Keep in mind, there is no one perfect build for all matches. You will have to juggle whatever defensive options you need with whoever you're going against. If you're going against a double mage setup, more magical defense, multiple physical gods need more physical defense etc.

AURAS:

Jade Emperor's Crown is great in situations where you have one or more physical enemies on the other team that are causing a problem for your team. Great for when you jump in and use your ultimate to initiate what you hope is a team wipe.

When looking to help buff up the rest of your team in a team fight, look to the Heartward Amulet (Magical Def and MP5) or Sovereignty (Physical Def or HP5) depending on the situation.

Pestilence (Magic Def) or Contagion (Phys Def) should be picked up when you encounter an issue with healing on the other team. Whether its one god healing themselves, or them healing their entire team, these items will help nip that in the bud. Keep in mind that as Cerberus you rec3eive part of the enemies heals.

Void stone is great when you want to get a little more of an offensive oomph for yourself and also make your opponents more vulnerable to your attacks, and those of any magic based gods on your team.

PASSIVE - Enemies hit by your damaging abilities will move 30% Slower and will have Shields applied on them reduced by 50% for 2.5 seconds. This can only occur once every 2.5 seconds.

Notes

The only offensive options I may spring for with this build, are Pythagorem's Piece or Gem of Isolation. Usually Pythas. Rarely go for Gem unless the slow would really contribute to my teams ability to score kills.

Pythagorem's piece is another Aura item that will increase not only your lifesteal, but that of your teammates. Lifesteal will help keep you and your team in a fight longer.

Relics

S8 Meditation Cloak Upgrade

S8 Meditation Cloak Upgrade

Using this item restores 75 Health + 12 Health per level and 30% Mana to all Allied gods within 35 units. Allies affected by Meditation Cloak have their abilities' mana cost reduced by 30% and their Ability Cooldowns reduced by 1s upon use. Cooldown - 120s.

Notes

As with everything else, you must build for the match you are in. If you are facing gods that you are having a hard time getting away from alive, Aegis and Beads are great options. Choose beads if it is due to a knock up, stun, etc that you are getting trapped and killed. If it is just due to the amount of burst damage a god does, swing for Aegis instead. You do no good to your team dead.

Belt of Frenzy is really great for a support role, giving you and your team increased damage to everything, as well as attack speed and penetration. Great for making a push down the lane, and your teammates will thank you.

Shield of Thorns is a great option for engaging the enemy team. Jump in with it on while you pop your ultimate and when they try to focus on you, you will reflect the damage back to them and hopefully help your team secure a wipe.

If you find yourself in a situation where your team needs Meditation you can always pick it up, I generally do not in Joust, but sometimes it does really help.

Notes

I utilize my Ghastly Breath (2) most often and thus try to max it out as early as I can (While taking my ultimate as often as possible). I use it very very frequently. It's great for clearing waves, buff camps, etc and to harass with. Especially when you then utilize your Paralyzing Spit (1) afterwards to stun them. I primarily use my Soul Expulsion (3) as an engage or disengage tool, and therefore don't worry about leveling it until late. However, its not a bad idea to level early due to the increase in HP gained from it.

I level his ultimate at every first opportunity. (Levels 5, 9, 13, 17 and 20) His ultimate works great to both engage a fight, and to disengage one. When he knocks enemies up, they will be tossed after a few seconds and they will land whichever direction you're looking. So if your team is ready to shred, toss them to your team, away from their safety to hopefully rake in the kills. If your team needs to get away, toss them back towards their end of the map and use the opportunity to slip away. Often times it will cause enemies to disengage.
