Hello All, this will be my first Smite guide however I made a bunch of guides for League on lolking before the site went under. I've been playing Smite regularly since Season 5 or so, and am currently around high silver ranked and have Diamond on Anubis. This guide is meant for players new to Anubis and just want a starting point.

Notes

When starting off as Anubis you want to keep in mind that your sustain through your passive is your key to victory. Your passive gives you extra protections and extra healing.

This consumable heals 150 Mana over 25 seconds.

Notes

This is a solid start for anybody playing Anubis, but when you're new it will be your best as it provides Health + mana sustain through your Vampire shroud and lets you stay in lane longer.

Notes

You can run either Conduit Gem or Sands of Time if you want extra MP5 at the cost of straight health regen. If you want to disregard a starting blessing you can start Talon Trinket however if you're new to Anubis I don't recommend this as you can run out of mana from spamming spells quickly. Starting a blessing is always a good idea.

PASSIVE - On god kill or assist a coin is flipped. If heads, you gain 150 Health over 6 seconds. If tails, you gain 5% Movement Speed for 6 seconds. You also gain 1 gold every time the coin is flipped.

Notes

This is what I would consider your "core" items, the 3 items that you should almost ALWAYS build, they give MP5, CDR, Magical Power, Magical Lifesteal, Magic Pen, and Move Speed.

Bancroft's talon for Lifesteal, Mana and Magical power, most players agree that this is the best first item and the best rush item for Anubis. It's everything Anubis needs to do damage.

I prefer Shoes of the Magi for the additional lifesteal, however Shoes of Focus gives more mana and some CDR but less Magical Power and no lifesteal. As a new player Shoes of the Magi giving you more lifesteal is a better choice in my opinion.

Charon's coin for movespeed, MP5 and Hp5, and magical penetration. Anubis is painfully slow, and that little bit extra movespeed can let you escape danger. getting some Magic Pen is always good as well.

Notes

If you want to try something different, take Book of Thoth early and then get Book of the Dead later for way more Mana, and a shield that scales of your Mana. It can be fun, and I run it in Arena mode a lot.

PASSIVE - Protects you from a single hard Crowd Control effect or Root once every 70 seconds. When this occurs, you gain 1s of Crowd Control immunity.

Notes

If you really need some extra defense you can grab one of these items, either for physical protections, the ability to steal max health or the ability to ignore a single hard crowd control effect like a root. However if you need extra defense, I recommend building magical lifesteal as you can litterally just lifesteal through damage.

Just your basic leveling guide for Anubis, E max gives you ranged damage, a slow and some good teamfighting.

Passive, Sorrow - Steals Protections and increases Anubis' healing from Lifesteal, stacks 3 times. This ability stacks per tick, and Anubis' Ability 1 and 3 tick twice a second. Meaning in 1.5 seconds you reach max stacks. Steals 7 protections and grants 33% bonus healing per stack/ 99% bonus healing and 21 bonus protections at 3 stacks.

Ability 1, Plague of Locusts - Short ranged high damage ability, people really underestimate the damage this does. At max rank it does 570 base damage + 240% of your Magical power over the whole duration. Lasts 3s and makes Anubis immune to all knockback.

Ability 2, Mummify - Pretty simple, a skillshot that goes forward relatively quickly. Hit a single enemy god to stun them. Stuns for 2.5 seconds at max rank.

Abiility 3, Grasping Hands - Mid ranged AOE damaging spell that also slows. Great for clearing minions and for just throwing at the enemy. Lasts for 2 seconds.

ULTIMATE, Death Gaze - Mid-high ranged straight line damage. What makes Anubis such a damage threat, casting this deals damage ticks 10 times a second. At max rank it does 1290 (+450% of your Magical Power) damage over 3 seconds. This makes Anubis entirely immune to any crowd control however you can only spin in place. This goes through walls and deals damage to all enemies along it's range.

The thing about matchups early is that it's a coin flip, you can beat anyone and can lose to anyone when you're still new to Smite or Anubis. Keep that in mind

Notes

Anubis easily wins any matchup against a god that lacks movement, the ability to hit a mummify and then your full damage combo will almost always lead to a kill or advantage in mid. Some points to keep in mind is that you are also slow, and should watch out for the enemy engage.

Notes

Anubis suffers from anyone who has movement/blinks or from anyone who can outrange and poke him. Keep the enemy damage in mind, build a bit more defensive, and you can suceed.
