RAMBO SEX BRECH - NA
Hello! Thank you for checking out my build guide on Kali. This is my first time making a build sheet here, and I look forward to filling up the search bar of smite builds!
Do not read this list with the assumption that I want you to build this way specifically. I don't care how and where you build your items. This list was made to encourage reasonably fair and opportunistic build options. So build smart, don't limit yourself, and have fun!
Attacker's Blessing
+20 Physical Power +25 Magical Power ROLE QUEST: DAMAGE Damage lane minions and Enemy gods to gain stacks. Dealing 100 damage to Lane Minions provide 1 Stack and Dealing 100 damage to Enemy gods provide 3 Stacks. At 100 Stacks Attacker's Blessing Evolves, gaining 10 Penetration.
Katana
This item and all upgrades are only available to Assassins and Warriors.
Multi Potion
This consumable heals 125 Health and 75 Mana over 25 seconds.
Multi Potion
This consumable heals 125 Health and 75 Mana over 25 seconds.
For the speediest Kali, I recommend building for Talaria Boots instead of Hastened Katana. It gives you more mana regen to stay in lanes longer, so that's a good bonus.
You can choose whichever relics go first. I recommend beads for the cc, but if you know who you're going up against, and you know how to play smart, get blink first. It can get you out of a chase or a kill that almost got away.
Qin's Sais
PASSIVE - On Basic Attack hits, deal Physical Damage equal to 1.5% of the target's maximum Health. If the target has over 2000 Health, the bonus damage scales up. This effect reaches a maximum of 6% of the targets Maximum Health at 2750 Health.
Hastened Katana
PASSIVE - Hitting an enemy with a Basic Attack grants Haste for 1s, causing you to be immune from Basic Attack Movement Penalty.
Hydra's Lament
PASSIVE - For 8s after using an ability, your next Basic Attack will deal an additional 25% damage. Abilities that function like basic attacks do not benefit from this. PASSIVE - This item grants 2.5 MP5 per 10% of your missing Mana.
OLD Stone Cutting Sword
PASSIVE - Melee Basic Attacks decreases enemy Physical protections by 7, and increase your physical protection by 5 for 3s (max. 2 Stacks).
The Executioner
PASSIVE - Basic Attacks against an enemy reduce your target's Physical Protection by 7% for 3 seconds (max. 4 Stacks).
Y10 Bloodforge
PASSIVE - Killing an enemy god forges a shield from their blood with Health equal to 200 + 10 per Player Level for 20s. While the Blood Shield is active you gain +10% movement speed.
This is a build I finish with very often. The order these items are in is not definitive, so do what suits your needs down the line. I do not recommend building Bloodforge first.
1st item - Hastened Katana for early chasedown
2nd item - Hydra's Lament to hydrate mana/burst potential
3rd item - Stone Cutting Sword to stack protections against physical gods
4th item - Executioner for that glorious attack speed and penetration
5th item - sell Attacker's Blessing for Qin Sais
6th item - Bloodforge to keep you alive when you start eating everything
(5th and 6th item are interchangeable)
OLD Ichaival
PASSIVE - Every successful Basic Attack increases your Physical Power by 10 and reduces the attack speed of your opponent by 7% for 5s. (Max. 3 Stacks)
*Asi
PASSIVE - If you drop below 35% Health, you gain an additional 25% Physical Lifesteal for 5 seconds. Can only occur once every 15 seconds.
Odysseus' Bow
PASSIVE - Every fourth Basic Attack triggers a chain lightning, damaging the target and up to 4 nearby enemies for 15 damage +60% of your total Basic Attack Power.
Asi seems to be a product of diminishing returns for Kali, in my opinion. She already has lifesteal in her kit, and Bloodforge covers most of the lost health while giving her more physical power to play with. It's still an option nonetheless. Toxic Blade is great against an aggressive healer (Aphrodite) or healer-based teams. Golden Blade is an underrated item for Kali. It opens up multiple kill possibilities, also the attack speed added is very nice. Ichavial's nice when dealing with multiple auto-attack gods.
Hydra's Lament
PASSIVE - For 8s after using an ability, your next Basic Attack will deal an additional 25% damage. Abilities that function like basic attacks do not benefit from this. PASSIVE - This item grants 2.5 MP5 per 10% of your missing Mana.
Y10 Transcendence
PASSIVE - You permanently gain 15 Mana per Stack, and receive 5 Stacks for a god kill, and 1 Stack for a minion kill (max. 50 stacks). You gain Physical Power equal to 2% of your Maximum Mana. At 50 stacks this item Evolves, gaining 10% Cooldown Reduction.
Heartseeker
PASSIVE - Your abilities deal an additional 2% of the targets maximum Health as Physical Damage. If you have over 150 Physical Power, your ability bonus damage scales up. This effect reaches a maximum of 6% Maximum Health damage at 250 Physical Power. Subsequent hits on the same target do 75% of the bonus damage for the next 3s.
I saw that someone had a build list that included these items for bursting potential. I wanted to add the concept to this build sheet, and leave it open for people to consider. I've used Hydras with Crusher and it's a sweet deal so far.
The most important items that can't be taken off the table is Magi's Cloak and Mantle of Discord. There's no debate on that. The other items are situational, and may favor you if you feel you won't face any consequences.
Magi's Cloak
PASSIVE - Protects you from a single hard Crowd Control effect once every 70 seconds. When this occurs, you gain 1s of Crowd Control immunity.
Traveler's Cloak
OLD Shifter's Shield
PASSIVE - While over 75% Health, you gain +25 Physical Power. While under 75% Health, you gain +40 Protections.
Bulwark of Hope
PASSIVE - When you take damage and are below 40% Health, you gain a Shield with health equal to 12% of your Maximum Health for 20s. Can only occur once every 60s.
Shifter's Shield doesn't have the best utility compared to the rest of the items listed here, but it can help provide both protections in case you wish to stay in the fight and it offers some power to compensate.
Runic Shield
AURA - Enemy gods within 55 units have their Magical Power reduced by 50.
OLD Ancile
PASSIVE - Whenever you take Magical Damage from an enemy ability you unleash a shockwave that Silences all enemies within a range of 30 units for 1s. This effect cannot trigger more than once every 30s.
Void Shield
AURA - Enemy gods within 55 units have their Physical Protection reduced by 10%.
Runic Shield tends to fall off late game, especially if you're dealing with more than two gods dealing magic damage. Ancile's a more suitable option if you're looking to dive on a lone mage or initiate a team fight. Void shield's pretty silly to have, but if everyone has physical protection, you're curious to see how it works, and the match isn't really punishing you, it's there. Winged Blade helps pull you out of slows, be it from Jorm's pool of spit or Poseidon readying his ult on you. The movement speed helps.
I'm not too crazy about this. My abilities are leveled differently for every match I play as Kali, and I don't remember them long enough to make an actual list. For burst purposes you want to prioritize Lash, Incense, and then Nimble Strike.
I have had games where I added more points towards Nimble Strike because most of my finishing kills came from that ability than Lash. And although Nimble Strike does more immediate damage, you're not always gonna land that. Both abilities can burst a god, but it's better to get them stunned and then Lash them for better guarantees.
These have been my hardest matchups playing Clash and Conquest. I didn't include most mages or any hunters because they can be popped easily, with the exception of some healers (Aphrodite is annoying).
These gods are hard to face because they can hard counter and survive longer than you (Osiris, Nike, Bellona), and some of them can burst you in less than two abilities (Pele, Thanatos, Susano).
I never try Zhong Kui with less than one other person and I've lost my sanity a few times because of Geb starting ganks on me and saving his teammates with the insane shield. These gods consistently make matches difficult for me.
The most luck I've had being able to stick a kill on highly mobile gods has been Chronos, barely getting a kill in the start of his ult, Mercury when he's not being smart, and King Arthur when the rest of my team just dumps CC on him. I don't face Freya enough for her to be on this list.
